The ALPS Program is designed specifically for students with multiple disabilities which include complex communication motor and vision Elementary School is seeking an ALPS Program Instructional Assistant to support students across various roles including providing support in general education classrooms special education inclusion settings and one-on-one candidates will demonstrate flexibility collaboration and a commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students. Positions will include working with students with disabilities students with complex medical needs and providing general instructional support in PreK-6 may include:Providing academic and behavioral support to students in inclusion and/or 1:1 settingsAssisting students with personal care needs including toileting mobility hygiene and feedingSupporting instruction using various curricula Collaborating with classroom teachers special educators therapists and school nursesMonitoring and documenting student progress or health status as applicableParticipating in team discussions when appropriateImplementing components of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or behavior plansSupporting smooth daily transitions and helping maintain a positive classroom environmentLifting and transferring students as needed (up to 35 lbs depending on assignment)Willingness to learn and support communication devicestraining will be providedPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with children with disabilitiesUnderstanding of child development Strong attention to detail patience and a positive attitudeWillingness to learn and work as part of a collaborative team
