What Youll Do

  • Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on trailer refrigeration units

  • Diagnose and fix issues on 2019-2024 Carrier units and 2024 Thermoking units

  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems

  • Repair or replace parts like compressors evaporators condensers fans hoses belts and electronic controls

  • Ensure all repairs meet or exceed manufacturer specs and company standards

  • Keep accurate maintenance records and paperwork

  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies efficiently

  • Follow safety policies to keep yourself and the team safe

  • Provide clear professional communication with drivers and fleet managers

  • Stay updated on the latest industry tech and repair methods through ongoing training

  • Help fellow technicians as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

What Were Looking For

  • 608 Certification preferred

  • Experience working with Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) a plus

  • Thermoking and/or Carrier factory certifications preferred

  • Strong understanding of refrigeration operations and microprocessor control systems

  • Skilled with hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Basic computer skills for diagnostic tools

  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Good English communication skills (speaking reading writing) for daily work

Hirschbach is seeking Trailer Mechanics at our East Dubuque IL shop! At Hirschbach you will complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on one of the newest and fully featured fleets. Come join our talented team of Mechanics!
