You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAECOMs Architectural Business Buildings Places is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is based out of our Markham ON Canadian company headquarters with opportunities for hybrid work permitted.
Major Responsibilities:
A key member of the mechanical design team responsible for design and construction administration of various facilities
Provide conceptual design at the early stages of the project and develop the concept to high quality detailed design co-ordinate with all disciplines;
Design HVAC Controls Plumbing and Fire Protection systems;
Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using industry programs (Carrier HAP);
Perform calculations conduct design drawing reviews and field investigations;
Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards;
Write/ edit mechanical specifications;
Travel to construction sites to conduct mechanical inspections and prepare reports.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field of study 4 years of experience in Plumbing and Fire Protection systems design
Registered Professional Engineer (.) in Ontario or equivalent
Preferred Requirements:
10-15 years of experience
Strong Consulting Industry background
In-depth knowledge of HVAC and controls systems
Design knowledge in Plumbing and Fire Protection systems
Experience in LEED/ Net Zero design preferred
Well organized self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Very strong communication skills spoken and written; good presentation skills.
Able to work independently or as part of a team
