Job Description

Are you an experienced Enrolled Nurse (EN) interested in a career in Theatres Healthscope are offering a career shaping opportunity to train as a Perioperative Nurse specialising in Scrub Scout. We have one role in the main theatre and one in the day surgery.

This role allows you to specialise in Theatres through a contemporary market leading career pathway program designed to accelerate learning whilst providing a nurturing and supportive environment with guaranteed employment and commitment to ongoing professional development.

About the role

  • A market leading 12-week Transition to Perioperative Nursing Scrub/Scout program
  • Successful participants to join our team in part-time (minimum 30 hours per week) roles.
  • October 13th start date with permanent employment as a Scrub/Scout nurse from day one
  • Partnering with highly experienced Theatre Clinical Facilitators dedicated to supporting your development in either the Main Theatre or Day Surgery
  • Experience a blended learning program with on-the-job training supported by comprehensive training materials and coaching
  • National study sessions to connect with fellow participants in the program
  • Celebrate your achievements at the program graduation ceremony

About you

  • Permanent work rights within Australia with no restrictions (unfortunately temporary visas and sponsorship cannot be considered for this program)
  • At least 2 years of experience post registration in an acute hospital setting
  • Registered nurse qualification with current AHPRA registration
  • A Working with Children Check National Police Check or be willing to obtain
  • A genuine interest and passion for the theatre environment and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • The ability to commit to a rotating roster including AM PM and over time on call shifts overnight weekends and public holidays.
