About this Job
The mission of the Acadiana Area Human Services District is to improve the qualify of life for citizens of Acadiana who have behavioral health and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus:
A masters degree in social work.
NOTE:
Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Social Worker you will function in the capacity of a behavioral health counselor:
- serving the acute and/or chronically mentally ill adult population the emotionally/behaviorally disturbed child/adolescent population and their families and /or clients with addictive disorders/co-occurring disorders.
- collaborating with psychiatrists medical psychologists nurses pharmacists and support staff regarding therapeutic interventions diagnosis and provision of evidence-based treatments via individual family or group therapy for clients indicated as meeting target population criteria.

Location:This position is located in the Acadiana Area Human Services District Tyler Behavioral Health Clinic in Lafayette LA
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Career Progression Group (CPG):This position participates in a CPG and may be filled as a Social Worker 1 2 3 or 4 level at which the vacancy is filled be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
