This role is ideal for someone who thrives on data-driven decision-making market modelling and supporting strategic trading and pricing strategies. Youll play a key part in enabling Delta to navigate the evolving energy landscape.
What Youll Do
- Develop and maintain fundamental energy market information systems to simulate and analyse market conditions.
- Forecast system demand generation capacity market pricing and trends to support trading strategies.
- Conduct market share modelling and situation analyses to assess external factors influencing Deltas commercial performance.
- Evaluate renewable integration policy shifts and regulatory changes affecting the energy market.
- Build pricing and volume exposure models to support origination and business development initiatives.
- Monitor and analyse competitor behaviour and market dynamics to guide strategic responses.
- Maintain and enhance energy market dashboards and data reporting systems.
- Produce performance reports related to hedging trading and broader market analysis.
What Were Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Economics Finance Engineering Mathematics or a related field.
- Strong analytical and modelling skills with proficiency in energy market simulation tools or programming languages (e.g. Python Excel SAS PLEXOS).
- Understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM) energy trading principles and wholesale market dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex data into actionable insights.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
