Were looking for a skilled Market Analyst to support the development of comprehensive market scenarios and energy market forecasts that anticipate emerging trends and their implications for Deltas energy market activities.


This role is ideal for someone who thrives on data-driven decision-making market modelling and supporting strategic trading and pricing strategies. Youll play a key part in enabling Delta to navigate the evolving energy landscape.

What Youll Do

  • Develop and maintain fundamental energy market information systems to simulate and analyse market conditions.
  • Forecast system demand generation capacity market pricing and trends to support trading strategies.
  • Conduct market share modelling and situation analyses to assess external factors influencing Deltas commercial performance.
  • Evaluate renewable integration policy shifts and regulatory changes affecting the energy market.
  • Build pricing and volume exposure models to support origination and business development initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyse competitor behaviour and market dynamics to guide strategic responses.
  • Maintain and enhance energy market dashboards and data reporting systems.
  • Produce performance reports related to hedging trading and broader market analysis.

What Were Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics Finance Engineering Mathematics or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills with proficiency in energy market simulation tools or programming languages (e.g. Python Excel SAS PLEXOS).
  • Understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM) energy trading principles and wholesale market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex data into actionable insights.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
