This position serves as a Traffic Analysis Engineer for the Traffic Analysis Section of the Traffic Survey Group (TSG). This position reports to the Traffic Analysis Supervisor and supports all Traffic Survey Group sections and staff as assigned.
This position is responsible for performing engineering and technical tasks related to planning processing analyzing and publishing generated traffic monitoring data to meet Federal Highway Administrations (FHWA) Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) reporting requirements and to support transportation planning activities of the NCDOT to maintain a Traffic Monitoring System. This position will assist with the development of new traffic monitoring practices to satisfy future FHWA traffic data requirements a task for which engineering judgement is essential.

Bachelors degree in the engineering discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience some positions may require licensure by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for engineers and surveyors. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
