What we are looking for:
Due to internal movements were looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our high performing team. Youll work across a range of financial operations areas and will play a crucial role in delivering a high quality service.
What your day will look like:
- Assisting in preparing monthly financial reports and resolving financial enquiries
- Investigating and advising on revenue and expenditure variances across departments
- Delivering training and support to staff on financial systems and ledger navigation
- Performing bank reconciliations journal processing and ledger maintenance
- Preparing and submitting monthly BAS and assist with FBT reporting and compliance
- Maintaining and reconciling operational grant funding in line with agreements and audits
- Administering and monitor Councils purchasing card system and ensure compliance

What youll need for success:
Youll be a strong communicator with technical accounting knowledge and the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders. Your proactive approach attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities will ensure you thrive in this fast-paced environment.
Youll have:
- Demonstrated experience in accounting and taxation practices
- Proficiency in finance systems and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with relevant legislation policies and procedures
