The Los Angeles Office of Education (LACOE) is looking for safety and customer focused individuals for the Warehouse Worker position.
Under general supervision a Warehouse Worker performs manual and clerical duties involved in receiving storing and filling requisitions; delivers supplies materials and equipment; and performs related work as required.
Important Note:This opportunity is available for those who have taken and passed the Services (Custodial / Maintenance / Warehouse / Delivery Driver) Series Examination with LACOE in the last two years or are substitute/permanent LACOE employees in a related job.We will be sending out invitations to take the Services Series Exam for those who have not yet taken the exam as a part of this recruitment but you may also sign up to take this exam at the following link:Services Series Exam.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Principles practices and techniques of warehouse operations including barcode inventory system and handheld barcode scanners
Organizational techniques and procedures for receiving shipping inventory system and delivery of stock items
Tracking orders using an online computer system
The methods and practices of storing handling and shipping supplies and equipment
Warehouse safety and security practices and procedures
Proper and safe operation of fork lift and pallet jack equipment
Computer hardware and software including enterprise-wide procurement systems and software
Lifting techniques

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience:One year of experience performing stock or delivery work in a warehouse or stockroom environment using fork lifts and pallet jacks.
Additional Requirements:Possession of a valid basic class C California drivers license and proof of insurability are required. Some positions require a valid commercial class B California drivers license. Positions in this classification will be required to lift objects without assistance weighing up to 70 pounds and push objects weighing up to 100 pounds - incumbents must be willing and able to do both.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Multiple Choice Exam Physical Performance Exam and Structured Interview.
