We are seeking Sales Consultants to join our VW team in Logan. This is a FT position with a 90-day training period paid as a guarantee.
The Sales Consultant is responsible for helping customers with the purchase of new or used vehicles by understanding their needs offering product recommendations and guiding them through the purchasing process. This role includes prospecting conducting test drives negotiating deals and providing exceptional customer service. The Sales Consultant is expected to meet sales targets maintain customer relationships and contribute to the overall success of the dealership. They should have in-depth knowledge of products excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach to sales.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement and Sales:
- Greet customers in a friendly professional manner and establish their needs for vehicle purchases.
- Provide detailed information about vehicle features pricing promotions and financing options.
- Conduct vehicle walk-arounds and offer test drives to potential buyers.
- Answer customer questions about various vehicle models financing options and dealership services.
- Build strong lasting relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and addressing concerns or issues during the buying process.
- Sales and Negotiation:
- Assist customers in selecting and purchasing vehicles that meet their needs and preferences.
- Negotiate pricing and trade-in offers with customers aiming to close deals while maintaining dealership profitability.
- Prepare and present sales contracts and documentation ensuring all transactions comply with dealership policies.
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to dealership sales goals.
- Follow up with potential buyers who have expressed interest but have not yet completed their purchase.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure customers are satisfied throughout the entire buying process addressing any concerns or questions.
- Provide post-sale support ensuring customers are satisfied with their vehicles and following up on service needs.
- Assist customers with warranty information vehicle accessories and maintenance schedules.
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner escalating issues when necessary.
- Product Knowledge and Research:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest vehicle models features and industry trends.
- Attend training sessions to deepen product knowledge and improve sales techniques.
- Be knowledgeable about the dealerships inventory including both new and pre-owned vehicles and offer expert advice to customers.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with sales managers and finance teams to ensure smooth transactions and customer satisfaction.
- Work with the marketing department to promote dealership specials promotions and events.
- Participate in dealership events promotions and sales campaigns to attract new customers.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate customer records in the dealerships CRM system.
- Assist in the preparation of sales reports and inventory management.
- Handle paperwork related to sales financing and vehicle registration.
- Follow dealership protocols for processing sales and completing necessary documentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing/Walking: The role involves standing and walking for extended periods particularly while engaging with customers on the sales floor or during test drives.
- Sitting: Sitting for periods of time is necessary when preparing sales documentation making phone calls or conducting follow-up communications.
- Repetitive Motion: Frequent use of a computer phone and other office equipment may require repetitive motions such as typing and using a mouse.
- Bending/Reaching: The Sales Consultant may need to bend or reach to retrieve files materials or demonstrate vehicle features.
- Manual Dexterity: Required for handling paperwork contracts and conducting vehicle demonstrations.
- Vision and Auditory Requirements: Good vision is necessary to demonstrate vehicle features and complete documentation accurately. Clear hearing is essential for communication with customers and colleagues.
- Physical Stamina: The position may require stamina to manage a high-volume customer environment especially during peak sales periods.
Driving Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License: A valid drivers license is required as the role involves driving vehicles during test drives and moving inventory between dealership locations.
- Occasional Travel: The position may involve occasional travel for vehicle deliveries test drives with customers or participation in sales events and training sessions.
- Clean Driving Record: A clean driving record is preferred for insurance purposes especially if the consultant will be driving company vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree in business marketing or a related field is a plus but not necessary.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in sales or retail sales is preferred.
- Experience in customer service relationship-building or sales is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of vehicle features financing options and the sales process is advantageous.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with customers.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close sales while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage a high-paced sales environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address customer concerns effectively.
- Proficiency in using dealership software CRM tools and basic office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
