Job Description
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Pathology is seeking an Academic Clinical Microbiologist at any rank (Assistant Associate or full Professor). In addition to patient care activities clinical microbiology laboratory management and accreditation-related activities the incumbent will be expected to participate in medical student and house staff teaching and develop or continue his/her research program. Outstanding opportunities for collaborative translational research are available throughout UT Southwestern community. Competitive salary and start-up fund will be provided.
The applicant must have an MD MD/PhD or PhD and BE/BC by the American Board of Pathology and/or the American Board of Medical Microbiology. If appropriate the candidate must be eligible for a Texas medical license.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215 which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research work on or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
