Required Qualifications
Special Education Certification Minimum of Five years working in a school setting as a special education teacher Experience collecting & analyzing progress monitoring & behavior data from classroom & other educational settings Experience with the Missouri Assessment Program-Alternate ( MAP -A) Experience with MO Learning Standards/Dynamic Learning Maps ( DLM ) Essential Elements scope and sequence Knowledge of research-based instructional and behavior intervention strategies (especially related to students with disabilities and ability to implement effectively); High Leverage Practices (HLPs) for students with extensive support needs; Specially Designed Instruction (co-teaching format accommodations and modifications to curriculum instruction and assessment etc.); accessibility and communication needs for students with extensive support needs; State Board Operated Programs (SBOPs); MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support); Continuum of Placements and Least Restrictive Environment ( LRE ); Individuals with Disabilities Education Act ( IDEA ) and the Special Education Process
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in teaching students with severe developmental disabilities Experience teaching severe developmental disability students Ability to coach collaborate with and provide technical assistance to adult learners Ability to design high-quality professional development and use technology to enhance it
