Job Description

Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Job Summary

We have been retained by a premier law firm in Boca Raton seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal. We are looking for a dedicated professional with a minimum of five years of experience who thrives on managing the complete lifecycle of commercial real estate matters. The ideal candidate will seamlessly handle client needs from acquisition and leasing through to dispute resolution and litigation demonstrating mastery over the full spectrum of challenges inherent in sophisticated real estate law. This role is integral to our practice and requires a proactive individual who can work with a high degree of independence while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of complex commercial real estate transactions including the drafting and negotiation of purchase and sale agreements leases financing instruments and amendments.
  • Oversee the entire due diligence process performing comprehensive title and survey reviews analyzing findings preparing title objection letters and proactively assisting attorneys in resolving title defects or related disputes.
  • Provide full-cycle support for landlord-tenant matters from drafting and negotiating commercial leases to managing default notices eviction proceedings and related litigation filings.
  • Assist in all stages of real estate litigation including drafting pleadings preparing and responding to discovery requests and managing e-discovery protocols.
  • Handle case and transaction management with meticulous attention to detail maintaining critical date calendars for closings court deadlines and statutes of limitation.
  • Coordinate directly with clients title companies lenders opposing counsel and court personnel to ensure all matters progress smoothly and efficiently.
  • Prepare for and provide support during depositions hearings mediations and trials including the preparation of detailed exhibit lists and witness binders.
  • Conduct in-depth legal and factual research on a wide range of topics such as land use zoning contract disputes and foreclosure actions.
  • Prepare and organize closing documents and binders ensuring all post-closing matters are addressed and assist with corporate entity formation and UCC filings as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of direct paralegal experience in commercial real estate with a demonstrated history of handling both transactional and litigation matters.
  • Paralegal certificate or a bachelors degree is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Florida real estate law and civil procedure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in reviewing title commitments ALTA surveys and underlying title exception documents.
  • Experience with electronic filing in Florida state and federal courts (CM/ECF).
  • A proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients courts and external parties professionally and effectively.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) document management systems and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Notary Public is a plus.
