PAYING $18.00 PER HOUR
EMPLOYMENT STARTS 08/25/2025 THROUGH 11/26/2025 (3 months) or 08/25/2025 THROUGH 12/23/2025 (4 months)

Description of Job

Position is responsible for accepting hunter-harvested deer and elk heads recording data money handling collecting tissue samples for chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing and other duties as assigned. Will maintain sanitize and handle equipment safely along with cleaning the walk-in cooler and office space. Training is provided on how to remove tissue samples from deer and elk for CWD testing and to perform mandatory inspections of hunter-harvested moose bighorn sheep mountain goats black bears bobcats and mountain lions. Position will also assist the front desk staff with selling licenses/park passes and with registrations of vehicles (boats OHVs and snowmobiles). Will have
opportunities to gain field experience by assisting biologists/researchers with projects or by going on ride-alongs with wildlife officers.

UNIFORMS:
The office will provide uniform items.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Valid drivers license required. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and lift 50lbs. Ability to interact positively with the public in various situations. Hunting experience is helpful.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Pursuant to theDNR-120 Fleet and Driving Standards Administrative Directive any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.
