This role is based in our Oakville Office and reports to the Purchasing Team Lead.

We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented Individual to join our corporate procurement team. This role combines strategic sourcing expertise with hands-on operational purchasing activities. The Strategic Buyer will lead sourcing initiatives build strong supplier relationships drive cost savings and ensure supply continuity for our manufacturing operations while also handling day-to-day purchasing needs when required.
This role is based out of our Oakville Ontario Corporate Office and reports to the Direct Purchasing Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned categories of direct materials.
Analyze spend market trends and supplier performance to identify cost reduction risk mitigation and value creation opportunities.
Develop negotiate and manage supplier contracts and agreements in alignment with company goals.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (production engineering quality etc.) to understand requirements and deliver optimal sourcing solutions.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships ensuring performance quality and reliability.
Manage day-to-day operational purchasing activities including creating and issuing purchase orders expediting deliveries and resolving invoice or delivery issues.
Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels in coordination with planning and production teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes systems and policies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field
Change Management Certification preferred
Supply Chain/Procurement professional accreditation (e.g. CPSM SCMP) an asset.
5 years of experience in strategic sourcing and operational procurement preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP S/S HANA experience is a must) Power BI and MS Office.
Demonstrated ability to deliver savings and value over a broad range of products and services.
Experience working in a matrix organizational structure is an asset.
Excellent negotiation analytical and communication skills.
Understanding of technical specifications and drawings is an asset.
