EH&S Compliance Specialist

EnSafe is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Compliance Specialistfor our Houston TX office.

An EH&S Compliance Specialist who will combine technical expertise strong people skills with a client-focused mindset to help organizations navigate and comply with environmental and health and safety regulations. You should be eager to roll up your sleevessupporting clients locally regionally and nationallyby developing pragmatic cost-effective strategies that keep them in compliance minimize liability and enhance environmental performance. We are seeking an individual with experience in both federal and Texas state environmental regulations as well as knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

What You Will Be Doing:

The successful candidate should have a proven ability to assist clients with understanding and complying with local state and federal regulations. Areas of business include:

• Developing and/or revising various US EPA State or OSHA required written programs or contingency plans (SWPPP SPCC Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans Machine Specific Energy Control Plans Lockout/Tagout Fall Protection etc.).
• Completing annual reporting such as Annual Waste Summaries Emergency Planning Community Right-to-Know Act reports (e.g. Tier 2 Form R) Emissions Inventories Pollution Prevention Annual Progress Reports.
• Evaluating and documenting air emissions Permit-By-Rule applications New Source Review Applications conducting emissions calculations.
• Preparing scope of services cost estimates and proposals for clients.
• Evaluating and writing environmental permit applications for various media such as wastewater stormwater and air emissions.
• Performing EHS compliance audits and preparing audit reports.
• Support Environmental Health and Safety objectives under OSHA guidance.

What You Will Need:

• BS or BA in Geology Engineering Biology Chemistry or Equivalent Sciences.
• At least five (5) years of professional-level experience is desired; prior experience in environmental consulting is preferred.
• Effective written/verbal communication presentation and organization/analytical skills; experience authoring detailed technical reports and plans.
• Strong organizational and time management skills while working on multiple projects for multiple clients; candidates must be detail-oriented assertive and exhibit good listening and note-taking skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs particularly Microsoft Excel functions and formulas.
• Regular travel to client locations (local and regional) with occasional national travel possible; approximately 30% overnight travel generally not longer than 1-2 nights.
• Candidates must be willing and able to work independently with minimal oversight in select circumstances.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions including rain and heat.
• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs as well as work at higher elevations such as building rooftops and tank farms.
• A Valid Drivers license is required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and diversified environment.
• Ability to pass a background check.
