Job Title: Service Team Leader

Department: Production Control Shipping

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

Direct Reports: None

Status: Onsite Non-exempt - Indirect Labor

Vacancy: 1st shift at Applewhite location. Starting at 6:30am to 3:15pm Monday through Friday with the possibility of OT based on business needs.


Job Summary:

The Service Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Service Shipping Center ensuring a clean safe and efficient work environment while providing strong leadership to the team. This role includes managing parts and container inventory coordinating outbound shipments ensuring compliance with all Shipping Work Instructions (SWIs) and maintaining clear communication with internal teams and external carriers. The Service Team Leader must also understand customer requirements and proactively escalate concerns to Supervisors as needed. A key focus of this role is driving operational excellence through accurate order picking timely communication and alignment with safety and quality standards.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage movement of resources such as team member materials parts to optimize service process.
  • Monitor order changes/revisions/removals planning and executing necessary order adjustments in QAD system including assigning this work for completion.
  • Handle day-to-day shipping and receiving tasks including loading packing and inspecting products.
  • Separate parts/material into a single kit to be delivered to Toyota Service or other customers to ensure maximum efficiency at distribution centers.
  • Assist in stocking products and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Communicate daily with customers regarding any issues or as requested by customers.
  • Enforce all safety and HR policies as well
  • Understand and adhere to Standardized Work Instructions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to effectively coach train and develop and engage team members to meet KPI expectations.
  • Perform leadership over team members during Supervisors absence.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements


Education:

High school diploma or GED

Experience:

Minimum of 6 months in order selecting and warehouse experience.

Candidate must have experience with MRP system

Candidates must have some experience in scanning against shippers

Inter-personal communication skills and ability to keep up relations with our customers and logistics team to foster collaboration In our supply chain

Certificates Licenses Registrations:

None

Computer Skills:

Beginner to intermediate level in MS Office including Word Excel PowerPoint Teams and in the use of e-mail web browser applications.

Mathematical Abilities:

Basic math skills.

Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:

Minimal analytical planning skills and critical thinking ability required with orientation for continuous improvement.

Communication Skills: (Writing Foreign Language Reasoning)

Ability to read write and speak English.

Bilingual English Spanish preferred.

Other Skills (Technical or Other special knowledge and abilities)

Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.

Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage a variety of projects and tasks.

Takes initiative approaches others in a positive and constructive manner and works well independently to achieve results.

Must be able to work with a wide variety of personalities to create a positive work environment and professionally resolve conflicts.


Physical Requirements

  • 100% of the time will be spent on the production plant floors walking standing and engaged in the activities associated with the role.
  • Be comfortable with lifting squatting and repetitive motion.
  • Must be able to team lift a minimum of 50 pounds 25 pounds alone.
  • Be able to work in an environment that is climate controlled but is exposed to potential heat rain and cold
  • Be willing to work alternate shifts to cover responsibilities and cross train in related departments based on the needs of the business
  • Be willing to meet the physical requirements above and work overtime as needed sometimes with minimum notice.
