You will work in conjunction with theatre staff you will be responsible for decontamination inspection packaging and sterilisation of surgical instrumentation within the CSSD department.
We are seeking an experienced Grade 3 Instrument Technician to join our dynamic Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) team.
In this role you will be responsible for the cleaning assembly distribution of surgical instruments and equipment ensuring compliance with infection control standards. Previous experience in a hospital CSSD setting and relevant qualifications are essential.
The Position
Maintain cleaning tools and equipment in good condition.
Restock cleaning and sterilisation supplies and report of low stock.
Undertake cleaning disinfection and sterilization of all reusable medical devices within Main Theatre and Day Surgery units.
Participation in ongoing training and development to enhance your understanding of instrument cleaning handling disinfection and sterilization processes.
Practice good housekeeping to maintain a clean and tidy work area.
Maintain efficient standards based practice to provide quality medical devices for clinical use.
Perform daily and weekly tests and cleaning as required.
Keep accurate and thorough documentation.
Organize repair servicing via MexOps tagging out as required.
Communicate effectively with all customers and patients using the appropriate channels utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication.
You will hold a Certificate III in Health Sterilising Practice for Technicians and have a minimum of 3 years experience as an Instrument Technician. You will demonstrate initiative reliability and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
To succeed in this role you will have a sound understanding of infection control principles and practices. You will be required to take charge responsibility during evening shifts and must be available to work across all shifts within our current operating hours (07:00 to 22:30).

Salary: $68357 per annum plus 12% superannuation
Permanent full-time position available
