POSITION SUMMARY:
The ROOTS Pathway Home (ROOTS PH) program is looking for a driven compassionate individual to lead a team in providing person centered reentry services to individuals in Ingham County who are housed at the Ingham County Correctional Facility. This is a 42-month federal grant through the Department of Labor. The ROOTS PH Program will enroll 50 people per year over the next 3 years who are returning to Lansing from the Ingham County Correctional Facility. ROOTS PH Staff will enroll eligible participants 20-270 days prior to their release from the ICCF. While incarcerated this team will help participants create an Individualized Development Plan while incarcerated to identify career interests engage in employment readiness activities match them with educational opportunities training and credential attainment. Post-release this position with support participants with paid work experiences employment placement and retention services and ultimately set them on a path to obtaining living-wage jobs. The ROOTS PH Coordinator is responsible for grant program outcomes and direct staff supervision of 2 specialists. This position will develop new and maintain existing relationships with all community partners including the Ingham County Correctional Facility Probation and Parole Police Departments Local One Stops and Employers. The ROOTS PH Coordinator will maintain accurate service and financial records for the ROOTS PH Program. This person will lead ROOTS PH Specialists in case management and curriculum development.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with all federal grant regulations and achieve performance outcomes
Provide direct supervision to ROOTS PH Specialists
Implementation of Paid Work Experience opportunities for participants
Developing new employer partnerships
Coordinate services and opportunities with Michigan Works! office
Secondary Instructor for CBI-EMP skills resume development interview preparation and life skills discussions
Create policies to guide Social Support service delivery and incentive management
Work with ROOTS PH Specialists to coordinate appropriate referrals to community partners including Community Mental Health Ingham County Health Department Michigan Rehabilitation Services Michigan Works! and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services
Maintain strong relationships with ICCF
Maintain an accurate record of participant progress engagement services and incentives
Regular communication with parole/probation officers to coordinate support services and program activities
Work with Reentry Services Manager to complete monthly quantitative and narrative reporting
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with community agencies and provide information to community resources to enhance support services for program participants
Conduct orientation sessions for new program participants as needed
Work with an interdepartmental team to monitor participants progress and enhance the quality of services provided
Research and build resources and team knowledge to help Team Members navigate community resources and internal resources so they can develop independence and self-sustainability
May attend community and Peckham events throughout the year
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Assist in the training of people with disabilities as needed
Promote Peckhams vision values and services with highest integrity and ethics to all customers and stakeholders
Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct report for 2 ROOTS PH Specialists. Conduct monthly supervision meetings and annual reviews.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires passing and maintaining federal and state security background checks
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy cultural diversity in the workplace
Bachelors degree (B. A.) required and 0-2 years of related experience
Or 4-6 years of related experience
Minimum of 3 years Case Management experience
Must have understanding of public policy and applicable human resources laws
Ability to research and build resources through community partners and Peckham programs
Competence with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel
Proficiency in or ability to learn OnTime and Workday or another HRIS system
Ability to maintain and keep strict confidentiality
Not currently under the jurisdiction of any corrections agency
Must be able to pass State of Michigan background check to gain access into the ICCF
