Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Full Time Day Shift Dietary Specialist Line Cook in our Dietary department job in Nashville Tennessee.
Schedule: 8:30a-5p
The Dietary Specialistis responsible for tray line service for all meals served in the hospital cafeteria which includes preparation for service of the cafeteria as well as the patient tray line service. Other department responsibilities include: nourishment/tube feeding preparation salad bar dish room cashier and pot sink area.
As a Dietary Specialist/Line Cook you will:
- Cleans work and eating areas.
- Follows cleaning/sanitizing guidelines for all work areas.
- Cook foods according to specified diet plans and menus
- Utilizes specified equipment such as stove deep fryer steam table etc. according to established safety and operating guidelines.
- Follows standard recipes.
- Makes efficient use of time to ensure food is served at desired temperatures.
- Prepare food for cooking serving and storage.
- Utilize necessary equipment such as mixer meat processor slicer etc. and prepares food using appropriate techniques.
- Evaluate food by sight and taste to determine proper cooking time and seasoning.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of unused foods.
- Maintain supplies and food items to meet needs of recipe and alerts supervisor of shortages.
- Serves food onto patient trays according to diet plans.
- Places proper food portions onto trays as specified by diet plan and age.
- Follows specified patient and employee menus.
- Transport food from preparation and cooking areas to serving line on a timely basis.
Dietary Specialist/Link Cook Requirements:
- High School Diploma (Equivalent)
- 4 years ofHospitality/Food Services - Cooks/Restaurantexperience required
- Must be able to read write and understand written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to keep a safe sanitary environment while giving the highest quality care to all customers.
- Computer literacy required.
- 4 years of Hospitality/Food Services - Cooks/Restaurantexperience
