Join our compassionate and dedicated team as aVeterinary Technicianin our public-facing clinic and embark on a rewarding journey of veterinary care within our two clinics in St. Paul and Golden Valley. Our community-focused clinics provide high quality care with affordable standard fees and additional discounts based on income.

Heres a snapshot of the job:

Pay:$20 -$32 per hour based on experience and certification

Location:St. Paul or Golden Valley clinics

Schedule: Full Time (30 or 40 hours/week)

    • 4 x 10 hours shifts (Saint Paul location)
    • 3 x 10 hour shifts (Golden Valley location)
    • Shifts would be 7:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday

Job Summary:The Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing the care examination evaluation and treatment of animals in accordance with established policies and under the direction of veterinarians.

Heres what youd be doing:

Veterinary Care:

  • Record and monitor animal health.
  • Handle and restrain animals.
  • Collect samples and perform tests.
  • Administer treatments and assist with surgeries.
  • Perform dental and diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilize equipment.

Client Communication:

  • Greet clients and obtain histories.
  • Discuss medical recommendations and provide aftercare instructions.
  • Maintain records and handle client communications.

Communication and Culture:

  • Promote positive communication and inclusivity.

Technology:

  • Maintain records and manage schedules using various software.

Requirements

Experience:

Experience as a Veterinary Technician Veterinary Technician certification or related schooling required.

Skills:

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail multi-tasking and time-management skills.

Proficient with computers specifically a working knowledge of Microsoft products.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift carry and handle animals and other items up to 50 lbs. unassisted. For animals and other items over 50 lbs. assistance from another team member is required.

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Emotional Demands:

Must be comfortable with the emotional aspect of work in the veterinary field and be emotionally resilient.

Must be comfortable handling a variety of animals with a wide range of behavioral and medical needs including the use of humane euthanasia.

Transportation:

Reliable transportation required.
