Join our team as an Environmental Program Coordinator and lead critical environmental compliance initiatives that protect public health and water quality in our community. This role offers the perfect blend of technical expertise regulatory compliance and collaborative problem-solving.

Examples of Duties

What Youll Do:

Lead Environmental Compliance Programs

  • Coordinate all aspects of federal state and local environmental compliance programs.
  • Develop and monitor district-wide compliance plans and report to leadership and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct quality control reviews for permitting inspection and sampling of commercial/industrial facilities.

Be a Regulatory Expert

  • Serve as the Districts primary representative with EPA Regional Water Quality Control Board and local agencies.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in environmental regulations and policies.
  • Prepare annual pretreatment and pollution prevention reports.

Drive Program Excellence

  • Provide instruction and training to USDs Environmental Compliance Inspectors to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Evaluate wastewater discharge permits and recommend enforcement actions.
  • Develop industrial discharge limit and monitoring programs.

Collaborate and Problem-Solve

  • Work with Environmental Compliance Coach (Supervisor) on managing the annual sewer service charge revenue and compliance.
  • Work directly with businesses and industries to resolve discharge violations.
  • Investigate illegal discharges to sanitary sewer and storm water systems.
  • Present program performance updates to management and Board of Directors.
