Job Description

RN - Surgical Intensive Care Unit Permanent Role

Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Essential Functions:
  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments of critically ill patients.
  • Develop implement and continuously evaluate personalized care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families offering emotional support and clinical education.
  • Promote informed health decisions through effective teaching and documentation of learning needs.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately ensuring follow-up and accountability.
  • Apply sound judgment problem-solving skills and clinical knowledge in complex situations.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and prioritize safety efficiency and evidence-based practices.
  • Support and mentor colleagues; contribute to staff development and community health initiatives.
Key Success Factors:
  • Strong understanding of nursing care standards policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state and local nursing regulations and ethical standards.
  • Proficient in medical terminology pharmacology disease management and preventative care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
  • Commitment to patient privacy and professional conduct.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse healthcare team.
  • Comfortable using electronic medical records Microsoft Office and clinical software systems.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already certified).
