Our team is hiring local Endoscopy Technicians to support our growing team. You will be responsible for ensuring instrumentation is sterile and ready to use. Cleans disinfects and sterilize all flexible bronchoscopes video scopes and related Endoscopy instruments for all areas.
Were looking for a self-starter who can manage their time effectively. The role requires drive and a sense of accountability because the day-to-day working environment will involve very little direct supervision.
Endoscopy Technician Responsibilities
- Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment according to center procedures; may perform minor repairs as necessary; advises appropriate staff members of equipment malfunctions.
- Maintains endoscopic and laboratory equipment in a clean and orderly manner; disinfects equipment and accessories according to center procedures.
- Under the direction of physician or registered nurse assists in performing endoscopic procedures such as biopsies brushings washings dilations polypectomies labels specimens and assists nurse in monitoring patients condition. *
- Delivers specimens to appropriate locations. *
- Ensures procedure rooms and charts are maintained with necessary supplies; restocks as necessary. *
- Maintains work area and procedure rooms in a neat clean and orderly manner according to departmental procedures.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
- Works in procedure rooms and in the scope reprocessing room utilizing scope reprocessing washers
- Maintain a high level of infection control awareness
- Helps with all of end of day duties including but not limited to cleaning organizing stocking supplies etc.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Endoscopy Technician
- 4 years of sterile processing experience
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
- Formal training as operating room technician or Endoscopy Technician (preferred)
- Clinical experience as Operating Room Technician or Endoscopy Technician (preferred)
