Buffalo Tungsten was acquired in 2023 by the Sandvik group and organizationally belongs to the Powder Solutions division within business area Sandvik Machining.
About the role:
Are you passionate about materials science and precision testing Buffalo Tungsten is seeking a detail-orientedMetallurgical Lab Technicianto join our team and support our mission of delivering high-quality metal and alloy products. The lab technician will conduct metallurgical tests to determine physical properties of metal and alloy samples. Operate and maintain lab instruments and equipment. Collaborate with internal teams including Production Shipping/Receiving and Inventory. Document findings in clear concise laboratory reports. Ensure a clean safe and organized lab environment. This role will be based at our site in Buffalo (Depew) New York.
Your background & profile:
Education
Minimum 2 years of relevant education in quality control (lab) metallurgy or a related field.
Experience
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a lab setting metallurgical lab setting is a plus. Physical activities include standing walking lifting to 50 lbs. and using lab tools and instruments.
Skills
Proficiency in laboratory testing and sample preparation. Ability to calibrate and maintain lab instruments. Strong attention to detail and documentation. Fluent in English (reading writing and speaking).

Starting Pay Range: $21-25/hour
Schedule:Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (with flexibility as needed)
