Position Overview
C&S is seeking a full-time Environmental Field Technician to join our Environmental Service Group in our Buffalo New York office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform sampling of soil stormwater groundwater and other media
- Perform sampling of suspect hazardous building materials
- Complete construction observation at various remediation sites
- Complete air monitoring at various remediation sites
- Communicate with teammates clients contractors and regulators
- Plan and coordinate field tasks
- Maintain accurate project records including a daily log of all project related activities and communications when necessary
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- 0 to 5 years in environmental consulting construction inspection or related field experience
- A valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Ability to read project scopes and design drawings
- A willingness to travel and undertake weekly travel and extended work days >8hrs when necessary
- Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Wear and properly use a variety of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds periodically
Relevant Experience/Certifications*:
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour
- OSHA Construction 10-hour
- NYS Certified Asbestos Building Inspector
*These certifications are not prerequisites for application and will be provided upon hire if necessary.
Estimated Compensation Range: $22 28/hour*
*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience geographical location and market conditions education/training certifications and other credentials as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
