Job Description

Pharmacy Buyer Opportunity:

The Pharmacy Buyer is to be accountable for all pharmacy inventory control and management under the supervision of the Manager of Pharmacy Services.

Compensation and Perks:

  • The starting pay range for this role is $21.47 to $23.37 based on education and experience.
  • This job is full-time and in person.

  • As a full-time employee of NCHC you would be eligible for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is a hybrid defined benefit plan. It contains elements of both a 401(k) or defined contribution plan and a defined benefit plan. Participating staff contribute 6.95% and NCHC will match this at 100% each pay period!

What Qualifies You:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School graduation or equivalent
  • More than one year of Pharmacy Technician experience or equivalent pharmacy buyer knowledge and experience

Required Skills:

  • General pharmacy operation knowledge
  • Organizational financial reporting
  • Computer based skills (Word Excel)

Driving Requirements:

  • Valid Wisconsin drivers license and appropriate auto insurance coverage as required by North Central Health Care
  • Must have the use of a personal vehicle

Preferred Qualifications Skills Education Licenses Certifications and Requirements:

  • Three to Five years pharmacy experience or equivalent pharmacy buyer knowledge and experience
  • Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CphT)

What a Pharmacy Buyer does at NCHC:

  • Maintains regular on-site attendance adheres to scheduled work hours
  • Must be able to perform the major duties and responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician as needed
  • Provides leadership and support for NCHC Pharmacy department regarding pharmacy drug purchases and inventory control
  • Monitoring of pharmacy inventory and purchase history to maximize resource dollars
  • Monitoring of pharmacy inventory and purchase history to maximize turnover rate and insurance of in stock status that meets the day-to-day operations
  • Development of relationship with drug wholesalers to maximize purchase power within our main contracted wholesaler and secondary wholesalers in the marketplace
  • Management and control of outdated inventory
  • Provide leadership in the completion of annual inventory process and controlled bi-annual inventory
  • Management and control of medication returns
  • Management and control of medication waste disposal
  • Management and control of NDC changes barcode scanning and automated distribution cabinet dispensing
  • Provide leadership and support in overall operational success
  • This position is 20% office work and 80% light physical work.
