Grade 8 Civic Engagement in Our Democracy: Professional Learning Community
Description: The Civic Engagement in Our Democracy Professional Learning Community (PLC) will support teachers with the process of implementing the DKP curriculum in grade 8. During the school year the team members will meet after school to internalize curriculum to commonly plan review pacing guides review student work with common rubrics and share strategies and scaffolds to support diverse learners. Members will report to K-8 Social Studies Director Marena MacLaughlin.
Working Time:
- 3:00pm - 4:30pm
- Meetings 1x per month for 1.5 hours each
- We will meet at mutually agreed days/times
Qualifications::
- Current Grade 8 Civics Teacher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rich and varied experience with literacy curriculum and instruction
- Strong growth mindset and collaborative skills
- Student centered approach to math instruction with high expectations for student achievement
