Job Description
Responsibilities
- Designing and laying out aircraft components systems and ground support/assembly equipment with a focus on soft goods flight hardware.
- Assisting in the development of requirements and specifications for products materials components and systems.
- Managing assigned tasks and projects to ensure timely and on-budget completion.
- Creating and maintaining CAD models (part and assembly) using Solidworks SolidWorks PDM Rhino3D and AutoCAD.
- Generating CAD drawings including part assembly installation and cutting pattern drawings.
- Selecting appropriate materials for designs.
- Conducting detailed analyses to optimize designs and verify their integrity.
- Providing manufacturing support including process development and fixture design/modification for fabrication assembly or system integration.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation to various stakeholders.
- Supporting the full project lifecycle from conception to in-service operations.
- Liaising with internal and external parties on technical aspects of assigned projects.
- Participating in and leading project meetings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2 to 5 years) of relevant work experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
- Extensive experience of 3D CAD modelling (2 years):
- Soft goods experience - preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work within existing quality management processes and improve quality management of soft goods processes in a development environment.
- Positive attitude
- Works well with others
- Able to lift 35 lbs
o SolidWorks essential.
o SolidWorks PDM essential.
o Rhino3D experience preferred.
o AutoCad experience preferred.
