Summary
DLA Piper is seeking a junior-level associate to join our Litigation group Business and Commercial subgroup. This position is open to our Miami* office.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities as an Associate will vary based on specific practice group.
Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
Draft legal documents including briefs motions and contracts.
Assist in the preparation of court filings and other legal documentation.
Participate in client meetings providing support and taking detailed notes.
Attend court hearings depositions and trials to observe and assist senior attorneys.
Review and organize case files and evidence.
Communicate with clients opposing counsel and other parties as needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client and firm matters.
Engage in pro bono work by providing legal assistance to underserved and underrepresented communities ensuring access to justice for all individuals.

JD
Experience
JD years 2022 to 2024 with strong litigation experience across a variety of practices.
Completion of a federal or state supreme court judicial clerkship is required.
Prior law firm experience is a plus.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
