The Pre-Press Digital Reproduction Specialist is responsible for the production of printed jobs using a variety of digital output devices color and B/W copiers and wide format machinery as well as some bindery equipment.
Process orders manage maintain and troubleshoot copiers of the Graphics Department Reproduction Center. Set-up and operate the printers in a way that consistently meets customer expectations and attains productivity requirements.
Utilizes all digital reproduction equipment and wide format machinery with graphics programs to achieve maximum production.
Performs preventive maintenance of equipment according to copier manufacturer recommendations and maintenance schedule to assure maximum performance. Performs diagnosis of equipment failure reports and schedules all service calls
Checks and interprets job tickets interprets customer information reviews files for print accuracy makes changes as needed and prepares job for production.
Determines layout number sequence posters and wide format programs as requested. Runs proof copy and checks for errors.
Processes the job and performs all bindery and finishing work as required on the job ticket.
Prepares finished jobs for shipping by packaging labeling loading boxes counting shrink-wrapping or for bindery operations as requested.
Works closely with Production Supervisor and Graphics Director to meet scheduled deadlines cross train and assists others in cross training.
Keeps inventory reports and reorders supplies and materials for reproduction areas as necessary.
High School diploma or GED required
3-5 years experience with digital Copy reproduction bindery graphics and wide formatmachinery
Knowledge of High Speed digital reproduction equipment such as copiers and printers and ability to operate wide format of Color Calibration of Color Digital Equipment
Knowledge of Bindery and Finishing procedures.
Knowledge of Desktop Publishing Digital File formats File manipulation Portable Document
