What You Will Do:
As a Field Pipeline Technician you will play an essential role within our Pipeline & Compressors department reporting to the Transmission Operations Manager. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Operations Maintenance and applicable work processes associated with transmission pipelines and compressor stations.
- Perform measurement duties as required per tariff dew point odorization. H2S Measurement etc.
- Install test calibrate program and maintain electronic gas meter measurement and control devices to ensure gas flow meters are working properly.
- Maintain filters and separators and dispose of hazardous material in accordance with company policies.
- Install electrical wiring to generate relays modems make controls and gas-pressure telemetry equipment.
- Inspect maintain repair adjust and calibrate measurement and regulation equipment both in the field and in the shop.
- Accurately determine tools materials and resources required to complete work by evaluating as-builts and or engineering drawings.
- Crew leader responsibilities (directing and coordinating teams transmission and compressor work activities.)
- Complete paperwork or electronic documentation and maintain field records/applicable paperwork.
- At the direction of management may inspect contractors work and make reports to management.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Support field maintenance activities and construction projects.
- Other duties include: cleaning painting weed cutting and snow removal.
What You Will Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two-year degree in electronic instrumentation or equivalent degree and/or experience.
- Must be able to perform assigned tasks unsupervised and make appropriate decisions.
- Familiarity with the geographical layout of the transmission system.
- Must possess current Alaska Drivers License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTARs Driving Policy.
- Employment is contingent on successful completion of the Operator Qualification Program.
- Ability to pass a drug background past employment and driving record screening.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Ability to install electrical wiring to generate relays modems make controls and gas-pressure telemetry equipment.
- Ability to install test calibrate program and maintain electronic measurement and control devices.
- Ability to fabricate and install MSAs.
- Ability to inspect maintain repair adjust and calibrate measurement regulation equipment both in the field and in the shop.
- Ability to establish and maintain field records and paperwork.
- Knowledge of pipeline operations and maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of natural gas utility construction projects and practices.
- Thorough knowledge/ability to learn ENSTARs Standard Operating Procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate detailed information accurately and clearly.
