The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a forward-thinking executive-level religious leader to fill our Faith Services Administrator position. This position directly supervises and oversees multiple Faith Service employees assigned to prison complexes statewide. This role not only ensures compliance with laws rules regulations policies and procedures pertaining to faith services but also involves collaborative efforts with other entities to expand and improve faith services within the institutions. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding religious programs property services and diets. Guides executive staff grievance coordinators and legal counsel on responses to grievances lawsuits and religious service provisions. Additionally represents the agency at meetings with other governmental jurisdictions and various community groups. And prepares a variety of technical statistical and administrative reports.
- Manages all aspects of the Faith Services and any other services given by the Assistant Director or Deputy Assistant Director of Education Programs and Community Reentry
- Ensures compliance with laws rules regulations policies and procedures
- Directly supervises and oversees multiple Faith Service employees assigned to prison complexes statewide
- Confers with leadership administrative staff and the attorney Generals Office regarding policies on religious services programs diets property and responses to grievances and/or litigation issues
- Facilitates collaboration with stakeholders to actively recruit religious volunteers to enrich faith services
- Provides guidance and counseling to Faith Services staff on matters related to religion
- Travel to various prison complexes assessing and enhancing the effectiveness of religious programming and services
- Prepares and disseminates reports such as memorandums correspondence and grant reports
- Provides statistical data analysis by generating and compiling various data accurately and in a timely manner
- Attends meetings trainings and conferences
- Monitors drug testing for religious volunteers and contractors
- Researches complaints and responses to inmate requests for special services diets and privileges
- Confers and consults with religious leaders and publications for direction on appropriate responses to institutional staff contractors volunteers inmates and the public regarding religious issues and questions
- Responds to queries from the public regarding religious contracts programming privileges donations pastoral visits and weddings
- Monitors the budget and compliance with contracts
- Reviews and revises agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and state laws rules regulations policies and procedures
- Drives on State business that may include overnight stays
- Perform other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Masters Degree from an accredited seminary or school of theology with a major in religion pastoral care religious counseling or related field
- Five (5) years of managerial experience that includes supervision of subordinate clergy in a correctional setting
- One (1) Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education
This position is required to provide proof of ordination or certification when applying AND denominational endorsement at time of appointment or within 6 months of hire date.
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
