Job Description

Lauterbach & Amen LLP is a well-established CPA firm specializing in governmental accounting auditing and financial services for municipalities park districts police and firefighters pension funds school districts and other units of local government. Job Requirements

Lauterbach & Amen LLP is searching for an experiencedauditor with 1-6 years experience to service our audit clients in the Chicagoland area. Requires 80% local travel. Governmental auditing experience and CPA a plus but not required. Prior supervisory or management skills are also a plus.

Job Responsibilities

  • Verifies assets liabilities and income statements by comparing items to documentation.
  • Completes audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings.
  • Appraises adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires.
  • Communicates audit findings to management and to client.
  • Complies with federal and state legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Planning delivery of solutions and answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required
  • 1-6 years of experience required
  • Pursuing CPA a plus
  • Government or Non-profit Audit experience required
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time around the suburbs of Milwaukee with occasional travel to other locations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
