Job Description
General Information/Duties:
- Assist in the planning organization and conduct of practice sessions
- Maintain regular communication with Athletic Director
- Attend clinics/workshops related to sport
- Plan and direct training programs that enable athletes to reach top performance
- Instruct athletes on proper techniques strategies sportsmanship and the rules of the sport
- Show support for other coaches with staff and the public
- Demonstrate positive team sportsmanship towards opponents and officials
- Effectively manage pre-contest and season details
- Complete inventory of equipment and uniforms at end of season
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful experience and ability to work well with students parents and staff members
- Knowledgeable in the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport
- Valid coaching experiences or experience as a participant in the applied position(s)
- High moral character integrity and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to obtain current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Demonstrated effective public relations skills
- Possess good organizational skills
- Non-smoker at work site
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
