Data Technician

- Previous experience in school data management or student information systems preferred.

Position Overview:
The Data Technician plays a critical role in managing and uploading student staff and assessment data to various state and district systems. This position ensures accurate and timely submissions to the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and supports multiple internal platforms including PowerSchool KITE and EDCS. The Data Technician also assists in managing enrollment course creation and state testing coordination.
Primary Responsibilities:
State Data Uploads & Reporting (via KIDS):
- Daily and periodic submissions for collections such as ASGT ENRL EOYA KCAN MILT SMSC SPED TASC TEST and EXIT.
- Ensure accuracy in core student data fields including SSID management attendance funding-related information course outcomes test eligibility and graduate/dropout tracking.
- Support accountability funding audits federal reporting and state initiatives.
PowerSchool Management:
- Maintain data accuracy for all district schools.
- Assist district staff and parents with PowerSchool access and troubleshooting.
- Run reports manage course and section creation populate testing and staff fields and support CRDC reporting.
- Assist with PowerSchool registration and E-Collect form creation.
State Assessment Coordination (KITE Platform):
- Manage test rosters update student and staff testing information and print test tickets.
- Coordinate data uploads for ACT KELPA KAP and DLM assessments.
- Serve as District Test Coordinator.
Educator Data Management (EDCS):
- Annually input and maintain detailed educator data including salaries assignments experience and demographics.
- Roll over previous years data and import new staff records.
Course & Program Management:
- Add new courses to KCCMS.
- Ensure CTE certifications dual-credit course outcomes and Migrant student data are tracked and uploaded.
Graduation & Dropout Reporting:
- Monitor and verify all student exits to ensure accurate reporting for the Dropout/Graduation Summary Report (DGSR).
Collections and Financial Correspondence:
- Maintain communication with external collection agencies and track related payment data.
Enrollment & Transfers:
- Assist with enrollment and student transfers including required state data uploads before reassignments.
Backup Duties:
Provide backup support to registration systems and assist in related administrative duties as needed.
