This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role youve been recruited for. If it isnt obtained or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn. Job description
Are you passionate about sharing your expertise and delivering high-quality training We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) Instructor to join our team delivering essential training and support across Defence Munitions (DM) sites. This is your chance to make a meaningful contribution to Defence while enjoying autonomy and flexibility in your role.
As the MHE Instructor you will play a pivotal role in delivering training on a wide range of MHE and Industrial Truck Groups (ITG). Based primarily at DM Gosport you will also provide training at DM Plymouth and in rare cases other DM sites. Your responsibilities will include delivering face-to-face MHE instruction offering subject matter expert advice on MHE matters observing MHE operating procedures and supporting MHE auditing as required. You will also construct training materials and presentations manage training records and provide expert advice to management and the wider organisation.
This role offers a considerable degree of autonomy allowing you to plan your own workload and tailor training delivery arrangements. You will work collaboratively with local sites and as part of a central training team ensuring the highest standards of instruction and support.
This is a face-to-face instruction role requiring daily attendance on-site at DM Gosport with occasional opportunities for remote working depending on operational needs. Travel to DM Plymouth will be required approximately one week every other month. If shortlisted as part of your interview you will be required to prepare and deliver a presentation that should be no longer than 10 minutes based around the topic of your choice. More information will be provided closer to the time of your interview.

Regular in-person attendance is required (this is expected to be approximately 80% of your working week) to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance and business need. Initially you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site the team and your role.
What youll be doing
Design and deliver learning interventions in line with business education & training requirements (F2F and Virtual).
Act as a point of contact for education and training within your specific area of responsibility.
Establish professional relationships with a range of stakeholders building professional relationships and providing SME advice and support.
Co-ordinating with customers/appropriate stakeholders in order to produce agree and facilitate delivery plans.
Consider current and identify new/enhanced education and training requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
Consolidate feedback and where appropriate make recommendations for improvements to learning interventions.
Assist with compiling the Statement of Training Requirements (SOTR) and reports.
Person specification
To be successful with your application youll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
Hold an MHE Instructor qualification from an accredited awarding body (eg. AITT RTITB NPORS)
Strong presentation skills including proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Hold a Full UK driving license
In addition to the responsibilities above the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
