Hours: Casual (Hours are 0730-1230 no weekends; no Statutory holidays)
What youll be doing:
- Phlebotomy
- Set-up and monitor tests as appropriate
- Identify patient receive sample and explain collection procedure
- Process samples according to lab procedures
- Performs specific tests on urine as required
- Label and sort specimens
- Administrative tasks including logging information order entry reporting data processing filing and retrieving records
- Perform proper infection prevention and control strategies/processes
- Appropriate preparation of kits/agents
- Commitment to working within Homewoods Health and Safety Standards
What were looking for:
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant Program with 1 to 2 years related experience or; equivalent hands on experience
- Registered with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and/or OSMT preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment (centrifuge) and methods for packaging specimens and venipuncture
- Computer skills
