Project / ProgramDepartment of Labors (DOLs) UISIm (Unemployment Insurance Service Improvement) project.
The position is in support (operational enhancements debugging) of the UISIm project a multi-year program effort to redesign implement and test business process improvements for the Department of Labors customers partners and internal staff. UISIm replaces the 40 year old Unemployment Insurance (UI) legacy computer systems and manual procedures with a new and improved integrated computer system.
Day to Day TasksActivities include but are not limited to:
Design develop and maintain cloud-based systems ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policies.
Building and deploying cloud-native applications using cloud services like cloud build cloud deploy. Build and manage the GCP foundation platform to enable application deployments
Engineer solutions on GCP foundation platform using Infrastructure As Code methods using Terraform
Integrate configure deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM networking logging Operating systems Containers.)
Consume centrally agreed base Hardened OS (Linux and Windows)
Configure backup of VMs and CloudSQL and restore.
Ensure compliance with centrally defined Security
Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network Firewall OS Logging Monitoring Availability Resiliency)
Build and support continuous integration (CI) continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities
Engineering activities to implement patches provided centrally
Update support and operational documentation as required
Ensure good Change management practice is implemented as specified by central standards.
Mentor state staff developers in cloud technologies.
Create and review infrastructure/DevOps architecture diagrams.
Analyzing cloud usage and optimizing resource allocation to control cloud expenses.
Monitoring cloud systems for performance issues identifying potential problems and troubleshooting technical incidents.
Diagnose technical issues analyze logs and effectively troubleshoot complex cloud problems.
Working closely with development teams system administrators and business stakeholders to translate requirements into cloud solutions.
Mandatory QualificationsCloud Engineer - Applies engineering disciplines to cloud computing and brings a systematic approach to concerns of commercialization standardization and governance of cloud computing applications. Leverages the methods and tools of engineering in conceiving developing operating and maintaining cloud computing systems and solutions. Uses the economics of cloud resources to solve business problems.
Expert - 84 Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requested Qualifications- 84 months of experience in designing developing and maintaining cloud systems ensuring best practices and security policies.
Design develop and maintain cloud-based systems in GCP AWS or Azure (GCP preference) ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policies.
Building and deploying cloud-native applications using
cloud services like cloud build cloud deploy.
Analyzing cloud usage and optimizing resource allocation
to control cloud expenses.
Monitoring cloud systems for performance issues
identifying potential problems and troubleshooting technical
incidents.
Working with Continuous Integration (CI) Continuous
Delivery (CD) using GCP Cloud Build & Deploy
Diagnosing technical issues analyze logs and effectively
troubleshoot complex cloud problems.
-60 months experience developing and maintaining cloud systems.
Terraform (Infrastructure as a code) to create VMs and streamline cloud deployments.
Scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation and system management.
Cloud service provider experience in GCP- infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of services including Compute Storage/Buckets SDN (VPC and XPN) CloudSQL Redis Secret Manager CDN HTTPS/TCP Load balancer Cloud Armor Logging Monitoring Alert Pub/sub.
Experience of Linux administration and scripting preferably Red Hat
Experience in managing GKE cluster and deployment of PoDs & services
Server administration (Linux & Windows)
- 36 Months experience using CI/CD pipeline technologies.
- 36 Months experience using GitHub repository.
- 24 Months of experience in Prisma Cloud Tenable OS Patching/upgrading.
