JOB SPECIFICATIONS Title: Vice President Metro Expansion Reports to: Chief Program Officer Department: Programs; Programs Data and Evaluation Division; Central Office Location: Remote within Kansas City Metro Area Classification & Status: Exempt Full-Time Work Schedule: 40-hour work week approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
JOB SUMMARY Reporting to and directed by the Chief Program Officer (CPO) the Vice President Metro Expansion (VPME) will work within designated metro areas with an initial focus on the Kansas City Metro making strategic connections with programmatic partners and funders to expand and deepen SparkWheels VPME coordinates this strategic approach with relevant SparkWheel staff as appropriate. The VPME serves as a critical member of the SparkWheel Expansion Committee and Team. The VPME implements the vision and goals of SparkWheel as articulated by the President & CEO.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Metro Expansion Efforts
- Leads expansion efforts in Metro areas aligned to the Strategic Expansion Plan and under the direction of the Chief Program Officer and in collaboration with the Development Team.
- Seeks potential education partners in all types of settings that are interested in partnering with SparkWheel to implement programming.
- Utilizes an established expansion protocol under the direction of the Chief Program Officer that includes initial outreach information meetings and/or presentations coordination of site visits and securing formal district interest in program implementation.
- Engages with the community by maintaining relationships with local metro area chambers of commerce and coalition memberships for the organization and communicating SparkWheel membership opportunities to local staff.
- Collaborates with appropriate External Relations Division team members on community engagement efforts including but not limited to attending and/or presenting to local civic organizations local chambers of commerce meetings and more.
- Coordinates with the Communications & Marketing department on collateral materials.
- Coordinates with Program Operations Team on programmatic events scheduling as needed.
- Monitors financial expenditures and progress against budgetary plan acting appropriately to meet goals and provide a high return on investment in meeting revenue targets.
Funder Relations - Leverage new and existing relationships by collaborating with Development staff in the cultivation and stewardship of high-profile funders.
- Maintains an active role in the fundraising community keeping current on the latest funding trends and priorities of funders within the scope of work of this position.
- Attends key fundraising events as the liaison for SparkWheel as requested.
- Supports the Development department with fundraising events by soliciting and securing sponsors for events as requested.
Programmatic Partner Relations - Develops maintains delegates and/or transfers strategic programmatic partner relationships to Program Operations staff as appropriate to support success
- Identifies relevant Metro area programmatic partners cultivates connections and makes introductions to key SparkWheel staff and leadership
- Attends key partnership-related events as the liaison for SparkWheel
- Supports agency-level partnership development efforts by providing relevant information to designated members of the Programs department as appropriate for circumstances or as requested.
- Maintains an active role in the social services education and other relevant communities keeping current on the latest trends and priorities.
- Participates in programmatic partnership relationships with school district partners in collaboration with Program Operations leadership.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Qualifications: At a minimum the VPME must have a bachelors degree in Nonprofit Management Public Administration Education or nonprofit related field with preference for a masters addition the VPME shall have: - At least 7-10 years of nonprofit organizational leadership. Areas of preferred experience in leadership roles include direct program supervision community and funder engagement partnership development and program expansion/implementation.
- Demonstrated and superior interpersonal written and oral communication skills
- Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects meeting strict deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Dedication to relationship building and a commitment to working as an integral part of the team while exercising significant initiative and autonomy
- Excellent knowledge and experience of computer applications such as Microsoft Office electronic data tracking internet web sites Facebook etc.
