Salary & Benefits:
Minimum starting salary of $46500 commensurate with experience.
Primary Duties:
Comply with appropriate regulations including HIPAA CLIA and OSHA.
Follow established clinical protocols as applicable.
Appropriately document patient interactions.
Manage patient phone calls and messages as appropriate for scope of practice.
Perform daily patient flow functions with demonstrated ability to effectively multitask when managing patient flow responsibilities.
Critically think when presented with unfamiliar problems.
Safely administer injections and perform venipuncture.
Attend staff meetings training and clinic community activities.
Provide care consistently with a patient-centered approach through specific actions such as identifying and addressing social determinants of health.
Greeting clients/patients and ensure documentation for visit is obtained and recorded appropriately including confirmation of insurance eligibility and other necessary forms are filled out completely and required signatures are secured.
Obtain necessary patient information including insurance provider update patient information if necessary and collect payment for services and/or bill patients accounts.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments using established scheduling guidelines and support follow-up communications.
Ensure that registration and front-desk duties are covered during open hours and closing details are completed.
Participate in data collection reporting and monitoring of scheduling or patient service trends as requested.
Perform general office duties such as filing sorting mail distribution and data entry as needed.
Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Graduate of accredited medical assistant training program.
Current Medical Assistant Certification in the State of Michigan.
Experience in medical office or similar setting.
Experience with an electronic medical records system.
Effective verbal written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to comfortably interact with diverse populations.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-orientated environment with a strong customer-service orientation.
Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner.
Ability to demonstrate competency with a Windows-based computer system including a basic understanding of e-mail internet and computer navigation and ability to use other software (e.g. Microsoft Word Excel etc.) as required to perform essential functions of the job.
Ability to hear speech speak utilize near-far vision and fine motor skills.
Ability to perform continuously detailed tasks with frequent interruptions and work prioritization.
Position requires frequent standing walking and occasional bending stooping twisting and lifting.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Bilingual - Spanish
