Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll functions accurately and efficiently ensuring payment for salaries entitlements and deductions are made on time for up to 300 employees every fortnight.
- Interpret and apply enterprise agreements and modern awards accurately.
- Classify employees correctly based on roles qualifications and entitlements.
- Update and manage confidential employee payroll records to accurately reflect employment changes such as new hires terminations leave entitlements wage adjustments reclassifications and changes in employee status.
- Ensure payroll records are comprehensive and compliant with Fair Work requirements and other applicable legislation.
- Deliver responsive and professional support to employees and stakeholders by addressing pay-related queries resolving issues promptly and ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Prepare payroll reports for end of month reporting.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and providing accurate payroll documentation report and reconciliations.
- Ensure timely processing of statutory obligations including single touch payroll (STP) superannuation payroll tax and child support payments.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Provide administrative and transactional support to the Finance team including assistance with accounts payable receipting invoice processing and end of month reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within payroll and finance operations identifying opportunities for greater efficiency and accuracy.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in roles requiring a high degree of numeracy ideally within a payroll or finance function where accuracy is paramount.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation enterprise agreements modern awards taxation superannuation and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
