Internship Responsibilities
- Learn how to compassionately present service options to families
- Help coordinate plan and schedule visitations memorial services receptions and open houses
- Support the scheduling of clergy military honors and other ceremonial arrangements
- Assist in preparing documentation including death certificates burial transit permits insurance claims VA burial benefits obituaries and notices
- Shadow licensed Funeral Directors and contribute to meaningful service
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or have completed an accredited mortuary science program
- Must meet all state requirements for internship eligibility
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to follow direction
- Professionalism in handling sensitive and emotional situations
- Basic understanding of funeral services and products
- Familiarity with industry regulations at the federal state and local level
