About the role
Provide advanced Occupational Therapy services to acute stroke and neuroscience inpatients using evidence-based assessments and interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
Manage complex clinical presentations independently applying advanced clinical reasoning and modifying standard practices to achieve optimal outcomes.
Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives and service evaluations to enhance Occupational Therapy practice within the stroke and neurosciences specialty.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including the Stroke Unit Director and Acute Care leadership to ensure coordinated patient-centred care aligned with clinical guidelines.
Provide specialist advice and mentorship to Occupational Therapists across St Vincents and wider networks contributing to professional development knowledge sharing and service excellence.
About you
Youre a qualified and AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist with a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy bringing specialist clinical expertise and extensive experience in Stroke and Neurosciences rehabilitation.
Skilled in applying advanced clinical reasoning to both routine and complex cases demonstrating independent professional judgement and a strong understanding of acute care processes.
A confident leader with experience supervising staff and students supporting professional growth while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Actively involved in planning and delivering quality improvement projects and research initiatives with a focus on enhancing service delivery and driving innovation in Stroke/Neurosciences care.
A clear communicator with excellent written verbal interpersonal and negotiation skills committed to the values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincents Health Australia and holding a current unrestricted NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
