The Iowa State Bookstore seeks candidates to support events such as the Iowa State Fair and potentially the Mini Store at the Alumni Center. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented have past experience in a retail/sales environment be a positive team player and be self-motivated. Employees may be expected to stand for extended periods of time and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
General tasks include:
- merchandise sales
- assisting with set-up and tear-down
- inventory replenishment
- general customer service
The Iowa State Fair event would run from August 7 through August 17 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines IA. You would be working in the air-conditioned Varied Industry Building.
Potential shift options include:
- AM Shift: Leave ISU Bookstore at 7:00AM work the booth from 8:00AM to 2:00PM and return around 3:00pm
- PM Shift: Leave ISU Bookstore at 1:00PM work the booth from 2:00PM to 8:00PM and return around 9:00PM
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
