POSITION TITLE: Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate
EXEMPTION STATUS:Exempt
REPORTS TO:Director of Counseling/Counselor Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Primary Purpose
Provide counseling services to students as identified by the individual campus referral process and communicate and collaborate with staff campus staff and parents as appropriate.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology or similar program
Current licensure with the by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of various counseling techniques and counseling models-individual and small group counseling
Ability to individualize counseling to meet students unique needs
Working knowledge of state codes governing guidance and counseling
Knowledge of the psychological and social development of children
Strong consultation skills for conferencing with students staff and parents
Strong organizational communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Experience
Minimum 1 year experience in counseling education or related field (including Internship and Practicum)

Environment: Work is performed on campus and in an office setting; frequent in-district travel; occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress work with frequent interruptions
