Serve as Area Coordinator while assisting with fitness center daily operations. Oversee the residential education model in assigned residence halls to support the holistic development of students and facilitate a safe sanitary and engaging living environment. Provide direct supervision and leadership to Resident Assistants (RAs) and Residence Hall Coordinators (RHCs) enhancing their ability to support students effectively. Serve as the first responder to crisis situations within the residence halls ensuring timely and appropriate resolution. Assist with daily oversight of the George H. W. Bush Center for Fitness by overseeing the Student Staff and daily operations with scheduling maintenance requests equipment upkeep cleaning other student leaders etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Residence Life - Live-On Area Coordinator:
Building Oversight: Directly oversee the operations of 5 to 6 residential buildings manage roommate issues and ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Support to RHCs: Act as the direct supervisor to Residence Hall Coordinators (RHCs) in the assigned buildings holding biweekly meetings to provide guidance support and performance feedback.
Community Programming: Oversee and implement community programming initiatives for the buildings to foster student engagement and development. Move-In/Move-Out: Assist with the organization and execution of move-in and move-out processes ensuring a smooth transition for residents.
Training and Development: Participate in training programs for residential staff providing ongoing support and professional development opportunities.
Conflict Resolution: Address and mediate conflicts among residents promoting a respectful and inclusive community.
On-Call Rotation: Serve in the on-call rotation to respond to emergencies and provide support to residents as needed.
Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records and reports related to building operations programming and student issues.
The George H. W. Bush Center for Fitness Daily Operation Oversight:
Implement and oversee student-led programming.
Supervise student employees and set coverage schedules.
Maintain policies to ensure user safety and security.
Coordinate the intramural referees and supervisors in collaboration with the Fitness Center Coordinator.
Ensure the organization condition and cleanliness of the center and its equipment.
Hold regular office hours in the Fitness Center.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as required to support the Residence Life program Fitness Center Coordinator and Student Life team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Hire and supervise student staff of Intramural Supervisors and Intramural Referees and Fitness Center student staff. Supervisory responsibilities include oversight of student program leaders who conduct classes as needed. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and / or Experience -- A Bachelors degree is required. Postgraduate degree preferred; one to three related experience in a college environment is preferred; or any similar combination of education and experience. Experience providing programming and/or services to students and an understanding of student development theory is preferred. Familiarity with holistic approach to wellness promotion is strongly preferred. Additionally ability to plan organize coordinate and direct student activities. Individual must possess a passion for students and their development.
Communication / Language -- Requires effective oral and written communication skills excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and before groups of students faculty and staff.
Mathematical -- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning -- Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Individual should possess skills in critical thinking problem solving and multi-tasking.
Planning and Organization Ability to plan and organize programs and events efficiently and effectively and to coordinate this planning with other offices and college personnel.
