Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The EVS Attendant is responsible for performing cleaning duties as directed by the Environmental Services Supervisor throughout the property and ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of all public spaces including the hotel. The EVS Attendant interacts daily with guests and will play a crucial part in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests per Spokane Tribe Resort & Casinos mission of exceeding guests expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Accountable for cleanliness and overall condition of assigned areas including duties assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department.
  2. General cleaning and sanitizing of all STRC areas in the front-of-house back-of-house including all public spaces windows surfaces and restrooms at STRC and STRC off-site locations. Dust and sanitize furniture and equipment (slot bases slot chairs stanchions information signs etc.).
  3. Maintains the cleanliness of all slot machines and non-gaming areas in a sanitary condition including emptying and cleaning ashtrays. Cleans and maintains stairwells elevators escalators and people movers including arranging furniture such as chairs and tables (within the area of responsibility).
  4. Cleans and maintains flooring surfaces throughout the property. Hard flooring is maintained by sweeping mopping and burnishing. Maintains carpet areas by sweeping vacuuming and performing gum and stain removal.
  5. Maintains stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to complete duties. Restocks EVS storage areas and notifies supervisor of supplies needed or equipment requiring maintenance. Keeps all chemicals in assigned areas with proper labels according to the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensures all cleaning materials and equipment are utilized per manufacturers instructions.
  6. Remove trash and recycling from all receptacles properly and dispose at the designated locations. Operates trash and cardboard compactors following the Standard Operating Guidelines.
  7. Follows the required procedures for handling cleaning disposing or moving of objects and materials and/or the clean-up of blood infectious materials or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and STRCs Exposure Control Plan for Blood-borne Pathogens.
  8. Engage in exceptional guest service to both internal and external guests (i.e. answering questions providing information greeting and assisting guests whenever possible).
  9. Display a positive and professional demeanor during interactions with fellow team members and internal and external guests. Handle lost & found items following approved STRC policies and procedures.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Must have the ability to:

  • Work in varying levels of crowds noise and smoke the severity of which depends upon where stationed and guest volume.
  • Interact with Guests and Team Members in a positive and friendly manner.
  • Work with various types of chemicals ensuring proper precautions are taken.
  • Occasionally work outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
  • Effectively and efficiently move around the work area.
  • Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Inspect and clean areas of responsibility.
  • Transport all supplies to and from work areas.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrate excellent Guest service and communication skills
  • Familiar with the use of all tools and equipment required to complete all duties and jobs.
  • Proficient knowledge of safety guidelines when using required chemicals equipment tools and techniques while performing job duties.
  • Demonstrate ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain a consistent regular attendance record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this position the team member is frequently required to stand and walk for long periods of time; ; climb use hands to finger; handle; feel; or grip objects stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. Work at extreme heights. This person may regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust to focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member may encounter while performing the essential functions of the position.

Indoors - may be exposed to heavy smoke and fluctuations in temperature while in and around the Casino and/or Hotel. May also from time to time be exposed to noise from slot machines guests music and public announcement systems as is common in a Casino and/or Hotel environment.

Outdoors - may be exposed to all types of weather including but not limited to summer heat winter cold humidity rain snow wind and any other weather conditions experienced at the property; May also be exposed to normal conditions related to the position i.e. low light levels noise from equipment dust pollen odors wildlife etc.

  • Obtain and maintain a License D with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by STRC.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances regulations laws policies and procedures relating to the team members department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management
