Job Purpose
Work as part of a team in the Technology Services business line typical projects include mainly the implementation of software technologies but also participate in project teams focusing on Upstream and Midstream development and production operations Operational Excellence Surface Facilities Design and Modelling Process Engineering Carbon Capture and Storage opportunities.
The postholder will be required to work as part of a team- both within the location and remotely. The successful candidate will have a willingness to travel as and when required mainly on an international basis (with some domestic travel) on a domestic and international basis approximately up to 35% of the time.
Key Activities:
- Able to lead and deliver on customer engagement as SME on production engineering and facilities engineering assignments
- Able to provide project management and technical expertise on technologies and KBC process practices.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert guidance to junior staff for implementation projects of modelling in upstream such as full Oil & Gas field modelling from Reservoir to Export (reservoir wells pipelines network & facilities)
- Deliver project improvements through workshop training and implementation support.
- Establish Project Plan. Employs KBCs established methods and tools adapted for the specific sites needs.
- Defines resourcing requirements and work to be done by the individual team members within projects as project manager.
- Communicates with client at working level to ensure streamlined execution that client is clear about what has and is going to be done.
- Reviews progress/plans/actions with the Team Lead
- Reports progress formally to the client.
- Responsible for/contributes to preparation of reports for clients.
- Assistance in proposal preparation/sales visits
- Input to Technology Software Development
- Assists with client sales visits and proposal technical preparation as required.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
Engineering Solutions Design - Design complex and/or innovative engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example in terms of functionality performance aesthetics and cost) that conforms to Company and/or regulatory standards. Provides technical expertise advice to client. Including to identify gaps and propose optimization plan. Evaluation and lead client improvement opportunities include:

Engineering Standards Specification - Design and develop engineering standards and specifications for assigned clients to be adhered to by the Company and/or its suppliers contractors and consultants to ensure engineering work of the required quality is delivered and to manage the risks associated with consulting solutions. Key Account Management - Manage a portfolio of key and strategic customer relationships either personally or through sales account managers. Develop and execute tailored solutions and strategies for customers that ensure their ongoing satisfaction and loyalty while also enhancing profitability.
Customer Relationship Management - Develop and implement a relationship management plan for strategic complex existing accounts to build key relationships at local and national levels. Coordinate the engagement of own Company with the customer organization to ensure effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues. Manage key client and customer relationships often through account teams to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and loyalty.
Customer Needs Clarification - Consult with a range of customer representatives at different levels to identify the outcomes they require introducing relevant internal specialists and utilizing their expertise to gather and analyze complex customer data clarify medium- to long-term customer needs and develop and agree to a specification of customer requirements.
Sell Customer Propositions - Lead a cross-functional internal team (e.g. technical commercial and legal) to configure a complex tailored or bespoke product-and-services solution and associated contractual terms that meet the customers mid- to long-term needs at a national/key operating-unit level. Negotiate agreement with the customer and internally with commercial colleagues to ensure that customer requirements are met at an acceptable level of profitability and cash flow or alternately review and authorize complex sales proposals from team members that deviate from standard terms escalating issues to senior management where appropriate.
Promoting Customer Focus - Develop internal marketing plans and work collaboratively with other departments to improve internal relationships and build strong external customer relationships.

Education
- Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering or other engineering disciplines with equivalent level of experience in Upstream Oil and Gas
General Experience
- This role requires a good base level understanding of Petroleum Engineering especially upstream production and reservoir engineering. Areas of expertise such as Oil & Gas wells and surface facilities modelling production engineering operations and reservoir engineering is essential.
- Experience in conceptual studies for wells and surface facilities modelling and designing are essential for this role. upstream process technologies.
- Experience working on gas production with associated flow assurance issues is essential.
- Experience of implementing digitalization programs in Oil & Gas upstream is essential.
- Knowledge of process simulation tools such as Petro-SIM Maximus Multiflash (or similar applications) is required. Direct experience in upstream operations is highly valued.
- It will also be advantageous to have knowledge and experience of enabling technologies from KBC and Yokogawa required for Digital Transformation such as: Digital Twins based on Process Simulation; Machine Learning and other Artificial Intelligence technologies; Data Science and Visualization of Process Data.
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines within budget.
