Job Description

Description

Cardiac Physician Assistant will support the clinical quality and research functions of the cardiology department under the supervision of Board-Certified Cardiologists.



Responsibilities
  1. Working with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans for patients across inpatient and outpatient cardiology
  2. Assist physicians with consenting patients for cardiac procedures. May assist with cardiac procedures under supervision of a physician.
  3. Assessing and diagnosing cardiac conditions in patients.
  4. Helping to perform cardiac testing and interpreting results.
  5. Prescribing medication and administering treatment.
  6. Counseling education and follow up of patients with cardiac conditions
  7. Helping with departmental research and quality initiatives


Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Previous cardiology experience; preferred but not mandatory
  • ACLS and BLS certified
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills required
  • EPIC EMR experience is a plus
