Qualifications
Cardiac Physician Assistant will support the clinical quality and research functions of the cardiology department under the supervision of Board-Certified Cardiologists.
Responsibilities
- Working with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans for patients across inpatient and outpatient cardiology
- Assist physicians with consenting patients for cardiac procedures. May assist with cardiac procedures under supervision of a physician.
- Assessing and diagnosing cardiac conditions in patients.
- Helping to perform cardiac testing and interpreting results.
- Prescribing medication and administering treatment.
- Counseling education and follow up of patients with cardiac conditions
- Helping with departmental research and quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
- Current certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Previous cardiology experience; preferred but not mandatory
- ACLS and BLS certified
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills required
- EPIC EMR experience is a plus
